Mental Health Counseling ~ Counseling available for clients referred by staff from “participating organizations” at no cost.* ~ Counseling available for “self-referred” individuals at low cost.** |
Who? | Providers are either licensed interns or graduate students providing services under supervision and monitoring of an authorized supervisor. Students/interns are not employees of GHT; they are volunteering in an effort to gain supervised counseling experience |
When? |
Counseling session times are flexible and can be scheduled according to client and counselor availability. |

Why? |
The purpose of the Counselor Learning Lab is to assist LPC-interns and practicum students in gaining supervised experience and to make counseling services accessible at low or no cost to eligible persons. |
Eligibility Requirements ~ No other means to pay for regular counseling services by a fully licensed professional (e.g. no insurance/Medicaid) ~ Low-income individuals as determined by State of Texas Poverty Guidelines (at or below 150% of poverty level) ~ Counseling needs appropriate for skill level of student or intern |
